A Well Deserved Treat – Peter Marcus supports Carers Week 2013

National Carers Week 2013 got off to a flying start on Monday as Peter Marcus opened their doors to local carers, providing them with a well deserved treat.  As a part of the nationwide celebration of hard working carers, the Manchester hair salon offered the services of five of its top stylists for a day of free pampering.  Stylists Peter, Marcus, Claire, Stacie and Joe spent the day treating carers to a free cut and blow-dry, plus styling, to allow them to sit back, put their feet up and enjoy a bit of time for themselves.

The event was organised through Manchester Carers Centre, and after the success of Peter Marcus’ involvement in Carers Week 2010, the salon was keen to help out again and donate their skills for a worthy cause.  The event gave all guests the chance to put themselves first for a change, and indulge in some much needed me-time, in recognition of the selfless support they give all year round.

Carers Week 2013 continues until the 16th June, raising awareness of the role of carers within the UK.  This year’s theme is Prepared to Care? which Carers Week describes as ‘encouraging the public to think whether they could manage a caring role’ whilst also ‘helping those already caring to make sure they are accessing all the practical and emotional support they need.’  Peter Marcus’ complimentary pampering was a big hit, with carers leaving the salon feeling fresh and fabulous.  The event was also an opportunity for the guests to meet other like-minded carers and kick back in a relaxed and friendly environment.
